At last.  Someone with a sensible solution to the risk of war.  Of course the US and NATO won’t like it, but it seems the majority of British voters do.  Do away with nuclear weapons entirely?  Great idea.  They serve no purpose, except perhaps one day to defend against US aggression.

Maybe it will be the end of NATO.  Good.  The world may then be able to breathe a little more easily.  Of course, he has to get elected first.  And stay alive to see it through.

What about Russian plans?  Russian aggression?  What aggression?  What plans?  Russia only wants to live in peace, trading with the West and the rest of the world.  Their only military interest is in defending their own people and land …and they have learned to be well equipped to do that.

Perhaps if Bernie Sanders becomes US President, even ISIS will fade away.

I’m dreaming, I know.  But it’s our only hope.  Well, actually, our only hope is for a global economic collapse, such that nobody can afford aggressive plans.  Nor the military might to accomplish them (hence ISIS fading away – with no enemy threat and no oil income they will simply go back to being nomadic desert dwellers again, or whatever they were doing before the US stirred them up).

And that’s no dream (global economic collapse, I mean).  It’s about to happen.  Although I think there will be one last war before we can settle down to simple living, because some will not wish to relinquish their perceived hegemony easily.  If we, or some of us, can get through both of those extreme events with a much reduced population, it should be plain sailing from then on.  Oh, we may have to learn to live together in the few remaining inhabitable areas of the planet for a while, assuming we can find them, but that will generally be a good thing.  Oh, and we will certainly have to get used to not having the trappings (I just realised how appropriate that word is) of modern life, but that is a small price to pay for losing the fear of domineering elites and their dogs of war and their desire to control everything to their own ends.  Once we reach that stage, we must somehow manage to never allow that to happen again.
